Tom & Earl's sits off the main strip in downtown Gatlinburg, and we were glad to find it for a lunch spot. Seating is available indoors or on the patio, but they are unable to see parties larger than 8 people. We had a small wait for our table, about 15 minutes, but there are several small shops down the alley to kill time. Our server was very friendly and right away suggested their popular dishes. We selected two of his recommendations. The kids both selected the chicken tenders kids meal, which came with two tenders and a side. The regular entrees include one premium side or two regular sides. The two regular sides are not very big, but at least offer you a taste of a couple of things when you can't make up your mind. The Pig Lovers panini was interesting. I couldn't tell at first if I was enjoying it, but I did like the spicy mustard that was included. I much preferred the Love Tractor which was their version of a BLT. The toasted bread was pretty dry though and made the top of my mouth sore for two days. The slaw and green beans were good, but my favorite side was the beer-battered fries. If you order a starter, we enjoyed the chips and salsa with the queso added. They will charge you for extra chips, so keep this in mind when you order. I do think that if you pay extra for queso that you should get more chips without a charge. Both were good, the salsa was especially chunky and a smoky flavor.Tom & Earl's offers a full-service bar so it's also not a bad option if you just want to grab a beer and an appetizer. Service was friendly, and the space has a biker vibe to it. The spot is good for adults or families.
